Finance Manager
Our client, a dynamic and impactful non-profit organization, is seeking a new Finance Manager to join their team in Indianapolis, IN.

Position Overview: The Finance Manager will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to support our mission-driven initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Planning and Analysis:

    • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
    • Prepare annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads and senior leadership.
    • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  2. Financial Reporting and Compliance:

    • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including tax filings, grant reporting, and audit requirements.
    • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.
  3. Cash Flow Management:

    • Monitor cash flow projections and manage banking relationships to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.
    • Implement and maintain effective cash management policies and procedures.
    • Optimize cash flow through efficient management of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
  4. Grant Management:

    • Coordinate the financial aspects of grant applications, including budget preparation and compliance.
    • Monitor grant spending and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with donor restrictions.
    • Provide financial reports and updates to grantors as required.
  5. Financial Controls and Risk Management:

    • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks through proactive risk management strategies.
    • Continuously assess and improve financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in financial management, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Strong understanding of non-profit accounting principles and regulations (e.g., FASB, IRS regulations).
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders.
