Finance and Contracting Assistant Director

We are seeking a meticulous and strategic Finance and Contracting Assistant Director to join our client's dynamic team. Reporting to the CFO, this pivotal role involves overseeing budgeting and contracting functions, implementing robust internal controls, ensuring compliance with legal and accounting standards, and supervising daily financial operations.
This position offers the flexibility of working remotely from anywhere in the continental U.S. but does require periodic domestic travel.

Finance and Contracting Assistant Director Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and manage contracts with partner organizations, oversee contract-related financial operations, and maintain relationships with financial counterparts.
  • Draft and manage annual budgets, monitor budget performance, guide grant budgeting, and oversee cash flow management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Federal Uniform Guidance and GAAP, and maintain comprehensive accounting policies and procedures.
  • Supervise audit processes, review financial reports, and collaborate with auditors to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Handle the annual renewal of insurance policies and manage claims processing.
  • Guide the work of the Grants Manager and Bookkeeper and collaborate with the HR Manager on payroll and employee benefits.

Finance and Contracting Assistant Director Qualifications:

  • Strong background in non-profit accounting and contracting, GAAP, federal regulations (Uniform Guidance), and proficiency in QuickBooks Online or similar accounting systems. Advanced Excel skills and experience with collaboration tools are essential.
  • At least 5 years in financial or contracting management, preferably in the non-profit sector, with supervisory experience.
  • Degree in Accounting, Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience. Familiarity with federal funding and Uniform Guidance regulations is preferred.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident with fluent English proficiency.
