You will be part of the Aegis Test Team
supporting Aegis Combat Systems Ship
Installation, Test, and Activation of the newest
destroyers being built for the Navy in Bath,
Maine. Primary responsibility centers around the
installation, test and repair of Combat System
equipment on destroyers being built in Bath,
Maine.
The selected candidate will perform duties as an AEGIS Computer
Network Technician (ACNT) providing Computer
and Display Systems maintenance support
aboard AEGIS Destroyers as a Team Member on
the AEGIS Test Team (ATT). Selected applicant
will directly interface with other technicians and
engineers to provide effective and timely
reconciliation of hardware, software, and
network challenges and provide training to ships
force on the operation and maintenance of the newest baseline of Aegis equipment. Position requires shift work, brief at-sea periods and periodic travel supporting assessments, fleet emergent requirements and equipment installation events and issues.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in AEGIS Combat Systems as an
AEGIS Computer / Display / ACNT technician
with a thorough understanding of Baseline 9
equipment and/or applicable training in other
military services.
-UNIX-based open architecture experience and
its application to the U.S. NAVY Aegis Computing
Infrastructure (ACI)
- Experience with testing of fiber optics cables
- Working knowledge of Ethernet LAN
technology
- Thorough understanding of US Navy preventive
and corrective maintenance and proficiency in
reading technical documents
- Familiarity with hardware, software, network
test equipment used to evaluate and correct
operational failures (i.e. fiber optic testers,
multimeter's, o-scopes).
-25-35% travel will be required and can be
expected in support of AEGIS conducted at locations outside of Bath, ME
Candidate will be required on an infrequent basis to go underway on units and to frequently work on moored pier-side units. Physical ability to navigate steep stairs and ladders as well as work in confined spaces is a requirement.
Desired Skills:

• Must have an understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field, proficiency in reading technical documentation and possess both a mechanical and electrical aptitude

• Graduate of military or civilian electronic
and/or technical school plus experience is
desirable

• Proven ability to work with associated
contractors, Navy crewmembers and other
government personnel

• Knowledge of/or experience in other functional
equipment areas of the AEGIS Systems installed on Destroyers. BMD experience a plus.

• Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts requiring excellent written and oral communication skills
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
