Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Providing the ability to stand-up, support, and demobilize response operations located at in the field - to include physical, logical, and remote support where required.
Developing process and standard operating procedures as a method to validate fielded devices remain consistent with all standard configurations.
Managing, tracking, and storing all BHA field equipment in a secure manner (i.e., both physically and logically). Coordinating with Regional support POCs to capture information on GFE in the possession of offsite (remote) personnel and ensure adherence to all Asset Management processes.
Supporting scheduled field certification of all equipment used by BHA regional field staff.
Performing support and operating as a member of the Disaster and Response Team.
Supporting response or field assessments as part of response support and services to provide BHA staff more information to better understand the impacts of a disaster to determine how BHA can best support the affected country via humanitarian assistance.
Providing response or field assessment support and services consistent with the same SLAs as the response support and services.
Participating in formal communications equipment training to prepare to effectively operate all field communications equipment, trainings may be classroom-based, remote, and/or exercise-based to allow for various learning means.
Attending training delivered electronically, in a classroom setting, or in the field (i.e., in a disaster or disaster 1 simulated scenario). Tracking all deployable communications and specialized equipment inventory in the Agency's ITSM Tool (ServiceNow ).
Collaborating with inventory management to maintain comprehensive inventory and adequate equipment cache for use in surge and break-fix efforts.
Supporting the real-time accountability of the equipment status, whether the equipment is at facilities, in transit, being used for exercises, or in the field.
Updating all training materials for communications training, at minimum, this will occur when new types of equipment are added to deployment kit inventory or equipment/software is updated.
Checking all DART kit equipment readiness and provide a checklist report as proof of readiness (i.e., ensure gear is tested, software is up-to-date, and all equipment is deploy-ready)
Perform the deployable communications function and provide planning, redundant communications, and IT support and services in response operations field deployments. Contingent on Contract Award Qualifications Basic Qualification: An active US DOD Secret or the ability to obtain a US DOD Secret Clearance.
High School level plus some specialized experience within a field-based / civilian-based humanitarian assistance and disaster response environment. Demonstratd ability to identify and prioritizes humanitarian needs, recommends response activities, and coordinates with the affected country, donors, US military, and other organizations). Demonstated ability to Set up initial communications links, typically satcom, voice/data).
Demonstrated ability to use existing personnel safety and security radio net (typically VHF/UHF voice).
Demonstrated ability to perform immediate initial evaluation of communications situation.
Demonstrated ability to select communications site with considerations given to highest available elevation with appropriate clearing for radio and satellite terminal antennas.
Demonstrated ability to provision and provide operational field communications voice and data support.
Preferred Qualification: Active Secret Security Clearance.
Target Salary Range $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
