Concert Technologies, a telecommunications installation industry leader is looking to hire Field Cabling Technicians.
This position is based in Dulles, VA, and installs various types of telecommunications equipment at Customer facilities. The ability to regularly travel to these locations is required. A company vehicle is provided for work-related travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Field Cabling Technicians are expected to be involved in the following tasks:
- On-site pre-task surveys to determine project timeline and scope.
- Install, test, and document cabling as related to the scheduled task provided.
- Interface with all stakeholders in a professional manner.
- Establish voice and data network connections as appropriate.
- Mount applicable telecommunications equipment following industry standards, best practices, and manufacturer requirements.
- Install cable pathway systems using power or manual fasteners, drills, or other power equipment.
- Document network information by appropriately labeling all equipment and cables including recording configuration diagrams and specifications.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Eligibility to work in the US.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation.
- One (1) to Three (3) years of experience in cable pulling and installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Candidates with more than 3 years of experience may be considered.
- Currently possess a valid US Driver's License.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
- This is a physical position in that the selected candidate must be able to regularly climb ladders, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, crawl, and work in small/closed places to complete the assigned tasks.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Strong understanding of basic PC/Laptop use.
- Familiar with downloading & uploading files as well as familiarity with standard commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software programs such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
This W2 position pays $18-20 per hour DOE and is based out of our Dulles/Sterling, VA location. The selected candidate will be dispatched to the work location from Dulles/Sterling, VA.
