Sketch rough and detailed drawings of apparel and accessories and write specifications such as color schemes, construction, material types, and accessory requirements. Study new fashion trends and consumer preferences. Design for seasonal collections based on trend analysis. Draw patterns for articles designed. Select materials and production techniques to be used. Review samples for spec measurement, fabric, color, trim, etc. and communicate with vendors as needed.
