About our Program: MRSS: Is a Mobile Mental Health Evaluation Team that handles psychiatric emergencies for youth and young adults through age 21 who are experiencing dangerous mental health issues. This team can facilitate psychiatric hospitalization and write 72 hour holds. Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 4:30pm - 1:00am JOB SUMMARY Works within the vision, mission and philosophy of the agency. The Family Specialist II trains or oversees the development of a strength based relationship with youth and caregivers. Models how to implement positive behavior change through the creation of behavioral strategies that will support stabilization in the home and community. Does whatever it takes to meet the needs of the family in a strength based approach while also preserving the family unit. Assists in transitioning kids to the lowest level of care. Provides staff with morale building, leadership development, role modeling, and overall support to the Family Specialist I to ensure that needs are met for families and each other. Continues to bring creativity and strength-based philosophy to the office and our families. Works independently in the family's home and a variety of community and/or treatment settings. This position works directly with children and adults. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 1. Demonstrates mastery of Family Specialist I job description 2. Provides direct billable mental health services, documents in alignment with MediCal regulations and achieves set productivity expectations. 3. Coaches and mentors others in the principles and concepts of functional behavior analysis and the development of individualized engagement processes. 4. Teaches others how to utilize strengths of children, families, and others to assist in the implementation and achievement of goals and outcomes. 5. Initiates and leads groups in developing resources within the community to serve children and families. 6. Mentors, coaches and trains Family Specialists I 7. Coaches others on how to engage caregivers in building youth specific parenting responses that support positive behavior change and overall family relationships. 8. Documents interactions and practices and maintain administrative expectations in a timely manner and provides documentation coaching to others. 9. Provides leadership in developing program responses to needs identified across a number of youth and families where natural community resources are not available or appropriate. 10. Performs other responsibilities, as assigned, to support department/business needs. JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES Conflict Resolution Documents clearly and accurately Encouraging customer focus Initiative Time Management MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE BA degree plus 2 years experience working with children.
