Nevada Gold Mines: Mine Engineering Co-Op Position Description: Are you a mining engineering student at a Canadian university interested in a co-op placement with the single largest gold-mining complex in the world? Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) - operated by Barrick - is seeking a highly-motivated student for an exclusive work-abroad opportunity. Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Technical Services Group which may include assignments in mine planning, geotechnical engineering, ventilation and construction engineering, survey, and geology. Assist with projects related to production and engineering activities including backfill, ventilation, utilities (air, water, power), QA/QC, and ground support engineering. Intervene, as necessary, to ensure the health and safety of all employees, as well as protect the environment and NGM assets. Qualifications: Enrollment in an undergraduate/graduate mining engineering program at a Canadian university (required). Eligibility for a TN Scientific Technician visa Must be age 21+ and possess a valid driver's license. Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies (required). Knowledge of underground design tools, specifically Deswik and Vulcan (preferred). Strong Microsoft Office skills (required). Ability to collaborate with multiple departments and manage several projects simultaneously (required). Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills (required).
