Tessera Fall Co-op Program: Designed for students as an alternate academic study in their Bachelors or Masters program. Eligible students would be those attending schools with an established co-op program for academic credit. Duration: June 24 - December 13, 2024 Monday - Friday, 35-40 hrs./week Hands-on Experience: Co-op participants will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on innovative projects at the forefront of biotechnology. Coffee Chats with Leadership: Regular informal sessions will be arranged where students can engage in candid conversations with Tessera Therapeutics' leadership team. These sessions offer a unique opportunity to gain insights into leadership styles, career paths, and industry trends. Career Development Workshops: Throughout the program, participants will have access to a series of workshops focused on enhancing key professional skills such as communication, drafting a resume and interviewing. Student Outings and Activities: To foster a sense of camaraderie and community among participants, Tessera Therapeutics will organize various outings and activities. Student Presentation: Opportunity to present accomplishments at the end of the co-op program to the entire organization. Student Perks: Daily Lunch Stipend, Commuter Benefit, Onsite Gym and Paid Holidays Key Responsibilities: Develop column-based analytical methods to further characterize LNPs Perform small to mid-scale formulation preparation and routine characterizations Contribute to design of formulation process parameters using design of experiment (DOE) approach Design and execute experiments with clear and thorough documentation Present research results in slides format to different audiences within the company Basic Qualifications: Working towards a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Material Science, or closely related field Completed at least two years of an undergraduate education Good attention to detail, ability to plan daily activities and troubleshoot Ability to work safely and independently in an R&D laboratory environment, adhering to all laboratory safety requirements Strong interpersonal skills with an eagerness to support efforts on cross-functional teams Quick and engaged learner, independent thinker Preferred Qualifications: Enthusiasm and excitement for the pursuit of cutting-edge science Prior experience with LNP or other drug delivery systems carrying RNAs Prior experience with column-based separation techniques such as size-exclusion chromatography (SEC) Experience/understanding of LNP analysis techniques such as dynamic light scattering (DLS) and RiboGreen assay. Experience/understanding of DOE. Position Summary: The Co-op will be responsible for supporting the LNP Formulation team in developing a novel gene editing technology to advance therapeutic development. We are searching for a driven, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individual who is comfortable multitasking and working independently on various aspects of the platform. This individual will join a dynamic and highly collaborative team.
