Provide counseling and mental health services for WMU students. Major Duties Conduct psychological intake, evaluation, and assessment. Provide crisis counseling and case management services with students at a designated location including, but not limited to, the counseling services department, primary care department, or other campus locations as needed. Provide counseling and mental health services to students from various racial and ethnic backgrounds, abilities, ideologies and practices, gender identities, and sexual orientation. Facilitate treatment groups; provide crisis counseling, couples counseling, and participate in outreach activities on campus. Assist students with mental health needs including, but not limited to, referral to community resources and facilitating access to long-term and psychiatric medical care (including coordination of hospitalizations and discharge planning). Maintain clinical documentation, records, diagnostic and coding consistent with the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Collaborate and consult with medical professionals, ancillary services, and other campus and community resources. Participate in peer review meetings, quality improvement committees, and other duties as assigned. Provide after-hours on-call crisis intervention and management services. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in social work from an accredited institution or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Temporary or limited license in the state of Michigan. Some clinical experience including internship and/or practicum. Scope of practice of mental health conditions including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, sexual assault, thought and mood disorders, and other conditions common to a college student population. Knowledge of psychological theories, treatment interventions, and evidence-based treatment models. Clinical knowledge base in the following areas: Psychological intake, evaluation, assessment, counseling, case management, and clinical documentation. Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication abilities and presentation skills. Must be able to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated commitment to interculturalism. Desired Qualifications Practiced in an integrated health care delivery system. Clinical skills working with an adolescent and young adult population.
