Position Summary Concordia University is seeking applications for the full-time faculty position of Director of Graduate Counseling (School & Professional Counseling programs). This position is in the School of Education, directly reports to the Director of Graduate Education. An ideal candidate will hold a doctorate in counseling or a counseling-related field, be eligible for or willing to work toward appropriate Wisconsin counseling licensure, and have prior experience in the counseling field. Job Duties & Responsibilities Primary responsibilities include program administration; teaching courses at the graduate level; assisting with portfolio adjudication; and participating in interdepartmental faculty committees, academic scholarship, and university service. There are several specific duties of which to be aware of: Teach 12 TCs (four, 3-credit courses) per academic year (12 TCs would be administrative load weight) Recruit, hire, and supervise counseling instructors in collaboration with the Dean of the School of Education Oversee and supervise the Assistant Director of Graduate Counseling Promoting professional and positive relationships between professors and students Recruit and recommend instructors to the Dean Develop and monitor curriculum, update syllabi and textbook lists, and develop class schedules Review and accept/deny new student applications Monitor DPI, state, and national guidelines and requirements for the program Collaborate with staff and other Graduate Directors in the Graduate Education Department Collaborate with Marketing and Admissions Departments, to achieve student enrollment goals Other duties as assigned Education and Experience A doctorate in counseling or a related field is preferred. Candidates must be Christian, and a commissioned minister of religion in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod is preferred. Prior experience in professional counseling practice is required; prior college teaching experience is desirable.
