I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

The Office for Faculty Affairs provides innovative resources and meaningful guidance to ensure that all faculty members thrive throughout their lifecycles at the university. The Office works to ensure that faculty are well-positioned to transform students into citizen/leaders through high-quality instruction and expand the frontiers of knowledge through faculty scholarship and research. From recruitment to retirement and beyond, Faculty Affairs works collaboratively with all campus stakeholders to establish and maintain a vibrant, diverse, inclusive, and internationally recognized academic community of scholars.

The Faculty Affairs Coordinator works with the Faculty Affairs Specialist and other team members to support faculty recruitment, online hiring, and general office management. Assists with day-to-day operations in the online recruitment platform, manages electronic document filing, and oversees office management including office supply orders and organization.

Job Duties include:

  • Assists full-time and part-time directors with special projects as assigned.
  • Reviews hiring requests under the direction of the Faculty Affairs Specialist and communicates necessary revisions to departments.
  • Conducts regular maintenance of hiring system data, including closing old positions, removing defunct users, etc.
  • Provides support to applicants via email, as needed.
  • Maintains electronic filing systems, including uploading and indexing documentation and organizing electronic files.
  • Proof reads appointment letters and other correspondence.
  • Reviews and approves part-time faculty hires.
  • May assist with basic coding of non-compensation related personnel actions.
  • Oversees physical office space, ensuring supplies are stocked and organized and submitting work tickets, as needed.
  • Provides backup support to Faculty Affairs Specialist; manages faculty recruitment inbox, monitors online hiring system, and triages questions/issues to appropriate team members in their absence.


Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning additional responsibilities that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
