Description
The position of overseeing daily operations and maintenance activities for a chiller facility involves managing a team of technicians, coordinating work orders, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high levels of customer service
Here's a simplified breakdown of the role:
Responsibilities
Supervise and guide a team of facilities technicians, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing feedback.
Coordinate and prioritize work orders and maintenance tasks to ensure timely completion.
Conduct regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and address issues promptly.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment lifespan and reduce downtime.
Perform repairs and maintenance on HVAC, boilers, chillers, pumps, electrical systems, fire alarms, security systems, and building automation.
Maintain compliance with safety regulations and promote a safety-focused culture.
Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and equipment repairs.
Collaborate with external contractors for maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies.
Requirements
Two year technical degree or equivalent experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Extensive knowledge of maintenance fundamentals and experience in facilities operations.
Skills in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Detail oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Familiarity with OSHA codes and regulations.
Working knowledge of Metasys and low voltage control systems.
Physical capability to perform maintenance tasks.
Willingness to work varying shifts, weekends, holidays, and during special maintenance events.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools and equipment.
Universal EPA Refrigeration Certification required.
Valid driver's license may be necessary.
Must pass a thorough background check and interview.
