Job Summary: As a fabricator at our weld shop, you will be responsible for transforming raw materials into finished metal products through various fabrication techniques, including cutting, welding, bending, and assembling. You will work closely with blueprints, drawings, and specifications to produce high-quality components that meet our clients' requirements.

Responsibilities:

  1. Metal Fabrication:

    • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine fabrication requirements.
    • Cut, shape, and bend metal components using manual or automated tools and machinery, such as saws, shears, presses, and CNC equipment.
    • Perform welding tasks, including MIG, TIG, or stick welding, to join metal parts together according to established procedures and quality standards.
    • Utilize measuring instruments, such as rulers, calipers, and squares, to ensure precision and accuracy in fabrication work.
  2. Assembly and Finishing:

    • Assemble fabricated metal components into larger structures or products, following assembly instructions and diagrams.
    • Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to fit, tack, and weld components together securely.
    • Grind, sand, and polish welded surfaces to smooth out rough edges and achieve the desired finish.
  3. Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards throughout the fabrication process.
    • Conduct visual inspections and measurements to verify the accuracy, dimensions, and alignment of fabricated components.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
  4. Teamwork and Collaboration:

    • Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate workflow, share information, and address any challenges or obstacles.
    • Support a positive and respectful work environment by actively participating in team meetings, training sessions, and safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding or metal fabrication preferred.
  • Proven experience as a fabricator or welder, with demonstrated proficiency in metalworking techniques and equipment operation.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes and techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
  • Familiarity with various metals, alloys, and fabrication materials, such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
