Duties The purpose of this position is to supervise workers, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders and/or supervisors, in accomplishing the operations of a distinct organizational unit and to perform associated nonsupervisory work. Supervises a variety of occupations including Machinist, WG-3414-111 Sheet Metal Mechanic, WG-3806-101 Fabric Worker, WG-3105-091 and Nondestructive Tester, WG-3705-10. The grade level which best reflects the nature of the overall work operations supervised is WG-10. Planning. Plans weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations. Establishes deadlines and priorities based on established general schedules, methods and policies. Work Direction. Assigns tasks to be performed. Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures. Administration. Recommends and participates in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies. Schedules and approves leave of subordinates. Performs the nonsupervisory work of the function as needed. Implements safety regulatory requirements. subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow safety precautions. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Membership in the Colorado Air National Guard or eligible to transfer into the COANG. Must hold the grade of E-7 or E-8. Compatible Military Assignment 2A7XX or 2A6XX AFSC. Submit all required documentation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. For positions requiring the operation for motor vehicle, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. Qualifications Military Grades: E-7 or E-8 Compatible Military Assignments: 2A7XX or 2A6XX AFSC Please advise: 1. Experience which demonstrates the ability to use all types of hand tools, and measuring equipment related to this occupational series. 2. Experience demonstrating the ability to set up and operate machining tools and using hand tools to make or repair parts, tools, gauges, models, patterns, mechanisms and machines. 3. Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. 4. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. 5. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. 6. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. Education Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
