JOB TITLE: Fabrication Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Director of Manufacturing

LOCATION: HQ, Gilbert, AZ

SALARY: $75,000 -$80,000 annual + benefits + stock options


SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Operations, fabricates and / or manufactures components, assemblies, weldments, etc. as directed from various raw materials utilizing hand, power, machine tools, and welding types. Ability to read, understand, and interpret component and assembly drawings. Familiarity with tolerancing and GD&T principals. Produces components and assemblies to print meeting customer expectations and corporate quality standards. Participates in design reviews to provide manufacturability input. Assist other departments as required to perform vendor qualifications or audits.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reading, understanding, and interpreting component and assembly drawings.
    • Identifying required manufacturing and / or welding types and techniques to meet component / assembly documented requirements
    • Verifying fabricated component and assembly dimensions meet accompanying documentation
    • Proficient in GMAW process on mild steel components
    • Proficient in GTAW process with mild steel and aluminum welding
    • Proficient with Plasma cutting tools
    • Basic Knowledge of OXY/ACT torch
    • Demonstrated proficiency with basic hand tools
    • Demonstrated proficiency with power and machine tools
    • Demonstrated proficiency in sheet metal layout and metal bending / forming skills
    • Demonstrated proficiency operating a CNC Plasma Table
    • Knowledge of and ability to accurately read various measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, etc.)
  • Adherence to and promotion of corporate quality standards
  • Adherence to and promotion of corporate and industry safety requirements
  • Attendance and participation in design reviews
    • Assist designers and engineers in determining appropriate manufacturing practices are selected to achieve desired outcome
    • Assist other departments with vendor qualifications and / or audits
    • Other duties as assigned or required




QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years related experience or equivalent or schooling equal to and related to industry practices and experience.
  • Proficiency hand and machine tools.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina and good dexterity
    • Excellent eyesight or the ability to wear corrective lenses.
    • Specialized certification preferred.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Specialized equipment or machines used: welding machines, CNC Plasma Table, plasma cutters, grinders, drills.
