Executive Director

Partners of Parks
Executive Director (Full-Time)

Partners of Parks (POP) was founded in 1985 as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization by a group of Long Beach residents who were concerned that clean, open park space be kept available to all residents by raising funds to preserve, protect and maintain parks, and open spaces. Partners of Parks envisions a Long Beach community where everyone has access to welcoming local parks and high-quality affordable programs.

POP supports the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department at the City of Long Beach by working with donors to fund programming and infrastructure that benefits teens, seniors, and families-in-need. The organization touches over 1,000,000 children and their families each year through the El Dorado Nature Center, sports programs, senior centers, Municipal Band concerts, various parks programs, and infrastructure projects.

We are currently seeking a high-energy professional to oversee the operation, public awareness, and fundraising activities for POP. This individual will become the "face" of POP and represent the organization within the Long Beach community.

While utilizing the resources made available through LBPRM, the Director is expected to leverage this relationship to not only run the day-to-day operations of POP, but also develop the relation ships necessary within the Long Beach Community.

The Director's goal is to increase the number of annual donors and overall dollars raised. The position entails continuing and enhancing current programs, as well as creating and developing new fundraising campaigns and programs; donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship; solicitation of sponsorships in conjunction with PRM and event planning. Currently, POP hosts three annual fundraising events: "Sowing The Seeds" in spring at the El Dorado Nature Center, the Long Beach Charity ProAm golf tournament at El Dorado Golf Course in August, and Long Beach Gives (an online 24-hour citywide giving campaign).
