Position Summary

Caremark is the nation's leading pharmacy benefit manager (PBM). We work to ensure the path to better health is affordable, easy to access, and simple to follow, for our 103 million plan members. We provide personalized support to help people start and stay on their medications, because people who take their medications have better outcomes and lower health care costs.

Caremark is recruiting for an Executive Director, Business Architecture and Process who will be leading strategic initiatives aimed at fostering durability, sustainability, feasibility, reusability, reliability, and standardization within our organization's architecture. This leader will play a crucial role in overseeing the development of architecture strategy, capabilities and blueprinting by linking strategy and execution activities on complex strategic business transformation initiatives.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Developing strategies and blueprints by adopting various advanced architecture techniques, such as Capability Modeling, Customer Journey Mapping, and Value Stream analysis and by influencing and partnering with key stakeholders from across business and technology organizations.

  • Designing the department to execute projects, analyze data, and implement best practices.

  • Being an agile and collaborative leader who will partner across the organization to address the organization's challenges.

  • Removing organizational barriers that impact the cross-functional work required to achieve results.

  • Leading the team in developing and executing strategies to achieve target client satisfaction results. Take accountability for results including internal collaboration to drive change necessary to address client needs.

  • Possessing the experience, credibility, and demeanor to interact with individuals at the highest levels of client organizations and internally.

  • Influencing effectively across a wide range of senior stakeholders and have extensive experience working across teams to drive results.

  • Supporting CVS Health in attracting, retaining, and engaging a diverse and inclusive consumer-centric workforce that delivers on our purpose and reflects the communities in which we work, live, and serve.

Required Qualifications

The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company's business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders.

The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes
  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare leadership roles.

  • Proven experience with healthcare, pharmacy, and Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) processes and workflows.

  • Experience using project management methodologies, such as Agile, SAFe, etc.)

  • Experience with repository management, process mapping and advanced change management methodologies.

  • Demonstrated track record highlighting leadership skills, ability, and willingness to plan and achieve colleague success.

  • Strong influencing skills to effectively work across a wide range of senior stakeholders, as well as across both technical and nontechnical teams to drive alignment and results.

  • Proven ability to innovate and implement cutting edge solutions.

  • Experience in developing and delivering executive level presentations.

  • Certification in Business Architecture, Business Process Management, or Lean Six Sigma a plus.

  • Advanced presentation and facilitation skills with executive level internal and external customers.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate across the organization with other departments and deploy capabilities to internal partners.

  • Ability to problem solve, identify, and remove roadblocks, triage, and prioritize issues that impact one or more project work streams.

  • Extensive experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving innovation.

  • Experience facilitating buy-in and engagement across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Ability to anticipate risks and mitigate effectively.

  • Demonstrated success in the areas of collaboration, teamwork, and execution across multiple departments to deliver results.

  • Strong decision-making, analytical and organizational skills.

  • Ability to develop and execute strategic and tactical business plans.

  • Exercise sound business judgment to achieve proper balance between objectives and stakeholder engagement.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.

EducationBachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is

$131,500.00 - $334,800.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual Full time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
