Executive Director

Summary:

An established not-for-profit is seeking a qualified Executive Director in Athens, Ohio. This organization runs school-based and community mentoring programs for youth, ages 5 to 17 years old. The successful candidate will demonstrate that they are able to:

develop and drive the business plan of the organization;

cultivate a strong board of directors;

attract, retain and develop staff talent to implement programming;

develop plans to maximize the financial strength of the organization;

build and maintain key relationships to ensure the fund development strategies are achieved;

ensure that the program is able to attract volunteers and meet the goals of the agency; and

represent the organization at external partnership events and with the media.

This is a direct-hire, full-time salaried position for the organization. The schedule may vary based on programming and events, but is typically Monday through Friday, school/business hours. Pay is commensurate with experience, $42K to $52K/year. There are some benefits available, but group health is not available at this time.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social work, education or related.

2 years of experience in assessment and relationship development with child and adult populations with a strong understanding of child development and family dynamics.

Must have a valid driver's license, vehicle and insurance to drive between sites, as well as pass a background check.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in business, nonprofit administration, or a related field.

4 years of proven results in building/managing an organization and achieving measurable results.

Grant writing and management experience.
