Job Summary

The principal role of this position is to perform administrative duties for the executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, who is also the company's compliance officer, as assigned. The executive assistant will also provide administrative support for the Corporate Affairs, and Ethics and Compliance teams. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, scheduling and coordinating a wide variety of work assignments, routinely involving highly confidential matters. The executive assistant is responsible for proactively monitoring and ensuring timely response to executive issues and interacts frequently with company personnel at all organizational levels, members of WEC Energy Group's Board of Directors, and various third parties.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the calendars of the executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary and other leaders as assigned, including scheduling meetings and resolving conflicts.
  • Make travel arrangements as needed, submit receipts for payment, order supplies for multiple departments, and fulfil miscellaneous other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Assist with organization of meetings and supporting materials for WEC Board of Directors, and manage periodic payments to members of the WEC Board of Directors.
  • Communicate about administrative matters with the WEC Board of Directors.
  • Manage a variety of files, both routine and highly sensitive.
  • Follow up on assignments with other employees to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Act as back up for other executive assistants, as needed.
  • Coordinate departmental meetings and functions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years' experience providing senior level administrative support, preferably in legal and/or corporate governance-related settings.
  • Two-year degree required; four-year degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and a wide variety of assignments with tight deadlines.
  • Experience in the appropriate handling of discreet and highly confidential matters.
  • Strong organization skills, interpersonal skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside board members, community leaders and vendors.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to assist with department budgeting and forecasting responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook and ability to quickly become proficient in other applications. Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
