ESY - Summer

The Superintendent of Schools announces the following positions to support students in the Extended School Year (ESY) program this summer. Special Education CNA/Paraprofessional Extended School Year Program DATES: 07/01/2024-08/01/2024 HOURS: 8:30 am to 12:30 pm = 4 hours per day 4 days per week Monday thru Thursday TITLE: ESY Special Education CNA/Paraprofessional QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a current Massachusetts license to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant Minimum high school diploma or GED certificate Maintain certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and First Aid from a recognized provider, i.e. American Heart Association REPORTS TO: Site Coordinator/Program Director SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES:These responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Provide general nursing care to severe to profound special needs students by working in a collaborative role with other special needs and health staff to ensure a high quality of personalized care and instruction Promotes positive safety practices both within and outside of school Carries out communicable disease prevention and infection control based on current guidelines for universal precautions, prevention of bloodborne pathogens exposure and hazardous medical waste disposal To be directly responsible to the building nurse and /or classroom nurse for all activities related to medical concerns Assist with any health related tasks as deemed necessary by the Director of Nursing and/or the building school nurse, with individual students or in the building's health office To be directly responsible to the classroom teacher for all activities related to instruction Assist the classroom teacher in carrying out the goals and objectives of the student's IEP SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Hourly rate in accordance with the FRPS Para Professionals Group Contract " />
