Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Estimator for our Civil Construction division. This role is critical to our operations as it drives the financial planning and budgeting of our construction projects. The successful candidate will be instrumental in estimating the cost of our projects, analyzing project plans, and assisting in value engineering. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant team, working on a variety of construction projects. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail, an in-depth understanding of the construction industry, and a proven track record in estimating.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the overall estimated cost of a project.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates by breaking down the items of work necessary to implement the project.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to develop a project schedule and plan.
  • Assist in value engineering by identifying potential cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
  • Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, quality, and availability of materials.
  • Participate in proposal preparation and client presentations.
  • Negotiate and communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and partners to gather accurate estimates.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and technical developments that may impact cost estimating.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of financial reports and forecasts.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in civil construction estimating or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred.
  • Proficient in project management and estimating software.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
  • Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in the construction industry.
