Job Details

Position: Estimator (Steel Fabrication Experience Required)

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estimator with a background in steel fabrication to join our dynamic team. As an Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in accurately assessing project costs and preparing competitive bids for a wide range of steel fabrication projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the profitability and success of our ventures while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to understand project requirements thoroughly.
Utilize your in-depth knowledge of steel fabrication processes, materials, and labor costs to estimate project expenses accurately.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, including material take-offs, labor costs, equipment expenses, subcontractor bids, and overhead costs.
Conduct thorough market research to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services, ensuring the competitiveness of our bids.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other industry partners to obtain the best pricing and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Provide timely and accurate bid proposals, taking into account project timelines, resource availability, and client requirements.
Participate in bid review meetings and negotiations, presenting cost estimates and providing valuable insights to support decision-making processes.
Collaborate with the project management team to develop project budgets, cost tracking systems, and financial forecasts.
Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements related to steel fabrication and construction.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in steel fabrication estimation, preferably in a similar industry or environment.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform complex mathematical calculations and analyses.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, Procore, or similar programs.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations related to steel fabrication and construction.
Detail-oriented approach with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying abreast of new technologies, techniques, and best practices in steel fabrication and estimation.
