Job Details

Job Description: Estimator for Overhead and Underground Electric Projects

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare construction plans, takeoffs, material requirements, and cost estimates for electrical distribution, transmission overhead, and underground projects.
  • Obtain and review subcontractor and material proposals.
  • Lead and assist in developing all T&D work scopes (transmission, distribution, substation, etc.).
  • Perform field visits to gather accurate technical data, minimizing the need for additional visits.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet all requirements.
  • Communicate accurately with internal staff and customers using appropriate media (email, fax, phone, video, etc.).
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Possess basic knowledge of construction standards and industry practices.
  • Have proficient knowledge of Excel, Word, and Adobe.
  • Possess basic knowledge of the union workforce and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Demonstrated successful track record of estimating in the T&D space.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
