Estimator

We are currently looking for an Estimator for a HVAC Contractor. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates for Design/Build & Plan/Spec HVAC construction projects. The Estimator will work closely with the project management team to ensure that all estimates align with project requirements and budgetary constraints.

Responsibilities:

Review base building documents provided from the GC/Owner.

Calculate AC & Heat loads for comfort cooling/heating in offices, warehouses, and restaurants.

Calculate ventilation required for specified air changes in a warehouse, including sizing of exhaust fans and louvers.

Calculate heat required for frost protection in warehouses, fire pump rooms and pump houses.

Work with the CAD designer to size, locate and determine type of duct work to be used.

Work with the CAD designer to determine locations for roof mounted equipment, split system equipment, restroom ventilation and associated duct work, grills, and thermostats.

Hand draw equipment locations for coordination with the GC's structural team.

Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.

Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and timelines.

Obtain competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors.

Obtain submittals from vendors.

Prepare and submit bids and proposals to clients.

Participate in design and project meetings and provide ongoing support to project teams, both in house and with the general contractors.

Attending in person meetings at the GC's office and/or virtual meetings via the computer.

Maintain accurate records of all estimates, bids, and project-related documents.

Requirements:

5-10 years of experience in HVAC Design/Build construction, design & estimating

Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and construction methods

Excellent communication and people skills

Ability to work effectively in a challenging environment.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
