Job DetailsJob Details:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Permanent Concrete Estimator . This role is integral to our operations, as you will be responsible for estimating work of particular projects, which will involve calculating the cost of labor and materials, and coordinating with various teams and contractors. This is a full-time position that requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in construction estimating.
Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate and analyze plans and specifications, blueprints, or other project documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
2. Prepare detailed cost estimates by breaking down the items of work necessary to implement the project.
3. Conduct regular risk and opportunity assessments during the bid process.
4. Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, obtaining quotes and managing correspondence.
5. Prepare and submit financial documents.
6. Balance multiple proposals and estimations at once, ensuring each reaches the client by the deadline.
7. Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
8. Use software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
9. Keep track of the latest trends and developments in the construction industry and update the cost database accordingly.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field.
2. Proficient in estimating software and computer skills.
3. Exemplary communication and negotiation abilities.
4. Knowledge of the construction industry, including construction contracts and material, equipment, labor costs, etc.
5. Strong understanding of concrete materials, their use, and cost.
6. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
7. A strong mathematical and IT ability with an analytical mindset.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is required.
9. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
