Job Details:

We are seeking an Estimating Manager to join our established team and be a champion for continued success in the department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the estimating department, preparing and submitting bids for projects, and working closely with other departments to ensure project success.

You will be working closely with, managing and collaborating with 2+ team members daily and reporting into the VP of Preconstruction in this role.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all estimating activities to ensure accuracy and competitiveness
• Conduct detailed analysis of the contract documents and specifications, to determine overall project requirements and identify any associated risk factors, including the monitoring of published addenda
• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors to gather competitive quotations and understand market trends
• Prepare comprehensive and detailed project estimates and bids while managing and meeting strict deadlines
• Review and finalize the cost estimates provided by the team, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with company standards
• Collaborate with the project management team to develop a project schedule based on the project requirements
• Ensure that all bid documentation is accurate and up-to-date
• Manage and coordinate the preparation of preliminary/general expense and overhead costs
• Lead the handoff meeting to the Project Management team once a project has been awarded
• Continually improve the estimating process, including the use of historical data, leveraging software solutions, and staying current with industry trends

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Estimating
• Proven experience as a Commercial Construction Estimator, with a solid understanding of material takeoffs, conceptual estimating, gmp estimating, and/or hard bid estimating
• Previous experience as a Preconstruction Manager or Estimating Manager is highly desirable but not necessary
• Strong numerical skills and the ability to produce accurate, detailed work under pressure
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
• Proficient with industry-specific software and computer applications
• A strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements
• Ability to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates
• Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
