Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the Certain Competitive Service / Modified Direct Hire Authority. Duties You will provide technical advice and assistance on the acceptance, installation, operation, and/or maintenance of assigned aviation systems. You will advise technicians on methods of resolving troubleshooting problems, repairing difficult system malfunctions, research and analysis. You will provide technical assistance by reviewing operation, maintenance, and installation procedures and other technical data applicable to area of responsibility. You will prepare NATEC Technical Reports and other appropriate reports on subjects of interest or concern to other Fleet activities and commands, Naval Air Systems Command, etc You will determine need for formal training and train or assist in training various personnel in the repair, maintenance and installation for assigned aviation system. You will keep abreast of the latest state-of-the-art equipment and procedures through review of engineering drawings and data, repair manuals and associated technical bulletins. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You will be required to sign a mobility agreement to accept relocation to other geographic locations if required by the employer. Qualifications FOR GS-11:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Furnishing technical guidance in support of assigned equipment/systems; 2) Advising technicians, as requested, on methods of resolving troubleshooting problems, repairing difficult system malfunctions, research and analysis, and resolving equipment problems; 3) Providing both formal and on-the-job training for personnel engaged in the operation, maintenance, and/or installation of equipment; 4) Providing technical assistance by reviewing operation, maintenance, and installation procedures and other technical data applicable to area of responsibility; and 5) Performing special project assignments related to assigned specialized information on new systems and equipment. FOR GS-09:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Advising technicians, as requested, on methods of resolving troubleshooting problems, repairing system malfunctions, researching and resolving equipment problems; 2) Performing informal training for personnel engaged in the operation, maintenance, and/or installation of equipment; 3) Providing technical assistance by reviewing operation, maintenance, and installation procedures and other technical data applicable to area of responsibility; and 4) Assisting with special project assignments related to assigned specialized information on new systems and equipment. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify based on the following education: FOR GS-11:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degreeor3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

LL.M., if related FOR GS-09:Master's or equivalent graduate degreeor2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related.
