Job Title: Epidemiologist Associate Director (Pharmaceutical)
Department: Global Medical Affairs
Pay Rate: Up to $102/ HR
1-Year W2 Full Time Contract, strong potential to extend/ convert.
Can be on-site (San Rafael, CA), Hybrid, or Remote in some states.
Do you enjoy figuring out diseases and how to treat them?
This is a leadership role for an expert (PhD preferred) in disease patterns and causes (epidemiologist) to design and conduct research studies for a specific medicine. You'll work with a team to:
Plan and analyze research: You'll design studies (retrospective and looking forward) to understand the disease patients have, treatment options, and how well the medicine works.
Support after launch: You'll help design studies to see how safe and effective the medicine is once it's available to patients.
Partner with experts: You'll collaborate with researchers at universities and other companies to conduct studies.
Stay up-to-date: You'll research the latest science on the disease and keep the sales team informed.
Write reports: You'll write documents for regulatory agencies, like applications for rare disease designations.
We're looking for someone who:
Has experience: You've conducted research on medicine use and effects in the pharmaceutical industry.
Is a leader: You can take initiative, gain trust from colleagues, and work effectively in a team.
Collaborates well: You have experience working with people inside and outside the company.
Manages well: You can prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and keep projects organized.
Communicates clearly: You can explain complex scientific findings to both experts and the general public.
Education:
PhD in Epidemiology with 2 years of experience leading research in pharma.
OR
Master's in Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology with 2 years of experience leading research in pharma.
OR
PhD/Master's in a related field (health research, statistics, etc.) with 5 years of experience leading research in pharma.
Bonus points if you have experience with rare diseases or genetic epidemiology.
