Summary

The Environmental Testing Technician is responsible for performing testing and determining issues of Underground Storage Tank (UST) equipment designed to reduce the chance of a release of petroleum into the environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Conduct periodic testing and evaluation of UST components

Carry out the testing of all engineered equipment including spill buckets, overfills devices, tanks and lines, sumps, leak detectors, and cathodic protection

Fill out completed test forms and submit to supervisor

Operate specific testing equipment according to EPA guidelines

Maintain company vehicles

Use mobile data tablets

Perform monthly/annual walk-throughs as assigned

Competencies:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have demonstrated experience in the following competencies and must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Certification in Estabrook Line, Tank and Leak Detection

Cathodic Protection Certification a Plus

Planning/Organizing

Requirements

A minimum of a high school diploma/GED

Experience in a similar environment or equivalent in college or vocational education

Valid Driver License, with an acceptable driving record

Ability to read and interpret and understand necessary training manuals.

Must be 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States

Must be willing to submit to a background and drug screen
