Overview:

The Public Health Project Manager is a member of an interdisciplinary team of public health consultants assisting Florida in reaching its strategic public health goals. This position requires a considerable exercise of independent judgment, excellent interpersonal skills, good computer skills, and the ability to perform against high standards of excellence. This position may work remotely and may require some travel on occasion. The salary range for this position is $50,000-$52,000 annually along with benefits.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Work with program staff to develop project plans and timelines for grant objectives. Use Microsoft tools for project management activities and share the project plans with other staff members, including the Program Manager for EPHT, in weekly meetings.
  • Assist with meeting Centers for Disease Control requirements for reporting of grant activities for Environmental Public Health Tracking and Workforce grants. These grant activities are reported quarterly.
  • Attend and actively participate in Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) Meetings for the program and complete documentation (such as surveys) related to DMI efforts.
  • The Project Manager must submit a weekly summary of updates with the EPHT Project Management Plans to the Program Manager.
  • The Project Manager must submit a monthly summary of CDC grant objectives, tracked through Microsoft Excel.
  • The Project Manager must attend and actively participate in bi-weekly DMI Meetings, as directed by the Program Manager, and submit meeting summary reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have working knowledge and understanding of informatics and project management principles.
  • Must have the capacity to effectively prioritize work, meet project deadlines, plan, organize, and coordinate assignments.
  • Interpersonal skills to enhance collaboration with various staff members and program partners, as well as ability to work independently, solve complex problems creatively, and consistently meet deadlines with accuracy.
  • Must possess the ability to review programming needs, comprehend complex information, synthesize information, and write brief narrative summaries of reports.
  • Must possess the ability to work remotely and in person.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
