Group Description The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. Role Summary Supervises the Occupational Health, Safety and Environment programs, including the development, implementation and maintenance of the systems. Ensures compliance with accepted safety and environmental standards and applicable legislation. Designs, plans or performs duties in the prevention, control and remediation of health, safety and environmental hazards. Key Responsibilities Ensures all OSHA recordkeeping and Magna required reporting requirements are met and within the required time frames. Provides leadership to the division's Health and Safety Committee meetings/activities and tracks the resolution of open issues to closure from these meetings. Facilitates health, safety and environmental training requirements to division's employees (including new hire orientation) Facilitates and tracks the resolution and timely response to action plans based on audit results to ensure risks and hazards are minimized and/or eliminated. Drives improvements in the division's safety and environmental performance through the effective implementation of the division's HS&E Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the use of audits and effective corrective/preventive actions to prevent injuries and illnesses from occurring. Ensures all federal, state and local safety and environmental laws/regulations and codes are observed as well as Magna's Internal HS&E requirements. Champions each worker's compensation case partnering with the external vendor for desired closures Provides leadership with the continual development, implementation and improvement of policies, procedures, programs and databases related to health, safety, ergonomic and environmental practices and requirements. Provides leadership in implementing and continually improving the division's 5S program. Leads in the implementation of the HS&E module requirements for MaFact. (Magna's Lean Manufacturing system.) Key Qualifications/Requirements Education/Certification/Licensure: Bachelors Degree in Health and Safety, Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of safety, ergonomic and environmental experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Motivated and Enthusiastic Personality. Good written, verbal and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization. Detailed oriented with good organizational skills. Good analytical, assessment and problem solving skills. Working knowledge of Federal and State occupational health and safety and environmental regulations; and demonstrated ability to provide guidance to the division and ensure compliance. Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and 45001 and 27001. Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Awareness. Unity. Empowerment.
