What you will do The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will plan, champion and implement EHS programs across the Largo facility to ensure regulatory compliance and an accident-free work environment for the organization. As a leader at the facility, the EHS Manager is expected to support safety transformation and projects. THIS POSITION IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR VISA SPONSORSHIP. How you will do it Plan and implement EHS policies, procedures and programs in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations along with Corporate, ISO14001/45001 and JCI Management Systems requirements. Responsible for the administration, implementation and compliance with the ISO14001 and 45001. Perform and drive job hazard analysis, ergonomic assessments and risk reduction projects to evaluate and reduce injuries and illnesses. Immediately contain and report all accidents. Perform a robust incident investigation process based upon JCI policies and apply a team approach to engage and advise key stakeholders. Coordinate root-cause investigation and follow corrective actions through to completion including tracking timely performance. At least monthly, share status updates with leadership and employees. Engage, implement and effectively communicate to plant employees, EHS peers and leadership policies, procedures, metrics, incidents and best business practices. Ensure entire management team understands how their activities impact EHS performance and annually completes management review. Engage the entire work force both salary and hourly to drive cultural change and accomplish EHS performance objectives and targets. Implement a thorough EHS training matrix and ensure ongoing EHS training. Track content and completion in adherence with regulations and ensure files are always kept inspection ready. Inspect facilities to detect existing or potential EHS risks/hazards focusing on life critical programs (LOTO, Machine Guarding, Electrical, Forklift, Cranes and Hoists, etc.). Develop risk/hazard prioritization plan, determine corrective or preventative measures and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented. Compile and submit all site applicable EHS permits and reports required by regulatory agencies. Build a compliance calendar and ensure associated tasks are entered into EHSIS. Review the compliance calendar monthly with Leadership. Ensure continuous participation in the EHS Zero Harm Coaching and Engagement program by site and use based upon the Corporate EHS policy and drive improvement. Get on the Gemba. Throughout the week, show a high level of presence on the shop floor and use walks and audits to identify improvement opportunities and safety Bravos. Regularly problem solve to make improvements with HPT teams and site Leadership. Coordinate site Safety Committee. Implement a plan to drive inclusion, engagement and continuous improvement and share progress with site Leadership regularly. Oversee Management of Change (MOC) program in accordance with JCI policies and regulations. Approve or recommend changes in manufacturing and engineering matters of plant layout, location/relocation of machinery, equipment, facilities, safety designs and processes. Manage workers compensation and reduce costs by working closely with insurance carriers, JCI workers compensation manager, attorneys and state authorities along with in-house supervisors and managers. Handle each claim from the accident report to the return of the worker for modified duty and ultimately to claim closure. Perform and document inspections, reports and testing to comply with corporate and regulatory procedures and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) for air, wastewater, storm water, waste, etc. Manage, maintain and thoroughly inspect the waste storage areas weekly to ensure compliance with federal and state rules. What we look for Required: Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences or a related field. Minimum of six (6) years of EHS management experience IN A MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT. Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience with Environmental permitting, recordkeeping and compliance. Proven record of accomplishment driving safety culture and transformation. Familiarity with ESG and sustainability projects. Strong background in OSHA standards, compliance reporting requirements and other applicable regulatory requirements and regulatory agency interaction and engagement. Collaborative thinker and strong decision maker with the demonstrated ability to influence and engage cross-functional teams. Strong communication and software skills to allow for timely reporting in complex EHS management systems. Preferred: Experience leading projects with complex timelines and deliverables. Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
