About the Role
This position will be located at the East Windsor, NJ facility and responsible for maintaining the facilities and sites regarding compliance with all EHS regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the facilities/sites in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies/standard operating procedures to comply with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency, NJDEP (New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection), DOH (Department of Health), and other applicable agencies.
  • Maintain air pollution, wastewater discharge, and hazardous waste permits. Develop and implement procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Prepare and submit routine regulatory reports; Maintain documentation to be inspection-ready at any time.
  • Conduct job hazard analysis and recommend engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Conduct hazard assessment of new chemicals and APIs. Institute procedures and train employees on these procedures.
  • Recommend and issue Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); Enforce adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Manage hazardous waste operations for the sites. Maintain compliance as a large quantity generator (LQG) of hazardous waste. Manage required documentation, including hazardous waste profiles, manifests, an emergency and contingency plan, and a waste minimization plan.
  • Conduct periodic inspections/audits of all facilities and sites and enforce corrective actions to maintain all facilities concerning compliance.
  • Maintain all fire protection equipment and emergency notification systems. Lead inspections from the township.
  • Institute security procedures. Maintain card access systems and the fire and burglar alarm systems. Conduct periodic testing of these systems.
  • Perform other tasks as directed.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in science or engineering
  • Two years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or related field.
  • Depth of knowledge of pharmaceutical industry standards on EHS (Environmental Health & Safety)
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and NJDEP regulations as applicable to the pharma industry and regulatory reporting requirements.
