Environmental Health & Safety Intern - 10-12 week (May - mid-August depending on school schedule) paid internship as part of our Environmental Health & Safety team. This paid internship will be onsite at K-Tube Technologies, located in Poway, CA.
Pay rate: $23.00/hour
As an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) intern, you will:
- Work in a team environment alongside EHS Engineer and Facility Manager.
- You will have several intern projects in data collection and reporting to assist in achieving ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) & 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) certification.
The goal of the internship is for you to learn about working in a corporate setting and to provide hands on experience solving real world problems in a team environment.
- You will be required to document and present your findings as well as making an end of summer presentation to upper management about what you achieved during the internship.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current active students in Environmental Health, Industrial Health, Sustainability, or a closely related discipline. Must be undergraduate Junior level or above with a GPA of 3.5 or above.
- Possess strong ownership characteristics and commitment to achieving results on time
- Have strong written and oral communicative skills
- Be a demonstrated "team player" with interpersonal skills
- Possess a creative mind in order to find novel design solutions
- Have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
- Safety glasses and safety shoes are required when in production areas
- Other personal safety equipment required as listed in SDS depending on task may include safety goggles, ear protection, full-face shield, apron, arm guards, rubber boots and gloves
