You will join a team of professionals and skilled workers with an opportunity to meet ongoing growth targets with the highest Safety and Quality while meeting or exceeding Corporate, Local, and Federal requirements. You will be the onsite champion for Siemens Energy programs including but not limited to Zero Harm, Technical Safety, Environmental Compliance, Sustainability, and EHS proficiency development programs. How You'll Make an Impact On a day-to-day basis you will exercise responsibility for the development and management of environmental, health, and occupational safety programs you develop and implement, or those based on programs, best practices, initiatives, and continuous improvement processes for Siemens Energy. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative, heavy manufacturing environment. Area of responsibility has high strategic, long-term impact, giving you frequent and direct access to all levels of management. Able to build/conceptualize new systems, programs, or guide introduction of new products with significant business impact without growing risk to employees or affecting regulatory compliance. Lead all operational aspects of the site EHS program as part of an Integrated Management System. Ensure changes do not negatively impact operations or regulatory compliance. Ensure conformance to Siemens Energy standards while meeting all business objectives. Optimally define workflows, jobs, and reporting relationships to acquire optimum efficiency. Develop and handle the department budget and business plans that include new EHS program introduction, preventative maintenance, and capital investment. Coordinate with Facilities, Operations, and others on all capital investments or changes. Identifies cross-functional resource needs in a collaborative fashion to reduce employee exposure to risks and ensure compliance across the EHS spectrum. Participate and assist with ergonomic assessments, job hazard analyses, training for First Responders, wellness, and health promotions. Proven leadership that drives EHS as the cornerstone of operations. Collaborate with internal and external key partners to drive improvements that meet or exceed objectives for the business. Create and implement initiatives to increase employee engagement while improving environmental performance all while aligning and keeping the long-term goals of the organization in mind. Provide guidelines to the Emergency Medical Technicians and Emergency Response Team. Provide experience and guidance in Occupational Health. What You Bring Ten or more years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) leadership role associated with heavy manufacturing. Experience related to the power generation industry is strongly preferred. Specific experience with fossil and nuclear power generation service and manufacturing operations is ideal. BS degree in a technical field required with a preference of a master's degree in an EHS-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience in the EHS field and operational heavy manufacturing industry experience. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level. Ten or more years of direct experience with in-depth knowledge related to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. Develop and drive the strategic EHS direction for the organization. An understanding of OSHA, Worker's Compensation, EPA, RCRA, NFPA, FM Global, and DOT requirements and how these regulations impact our business. Collaborate across all disciplines within the organization including operations, maintenance, human resources as well as contracted services. Experience in root cause assessments, hazardous waste management, training, quality, and customer interfaces highly desired. Experience in large rotating equipment, welding and lasers, cranes, radiation safety and heavy machining manufacturing environment required. Strong experience with computers and Microsoft Office software. Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. This position will require an export license from the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Issuance of any required license is a prerequisite for this position. The candidate must be able to work with export-controlled technology in accordance with US export control law.
