JOB SUMMARY:

The Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator MMDP is a developmental position in which the EH&S Coordinator will receive training and industry experience in preparation to become an EH&S Manager at one of the Company's manufacturing facilities. Upon the Company's determination of the completion of your training and development for duties as an EH&S Manager, within 6-24 months, you may apply for or be assigned to relocate to a plant location where a EH&S Manager vacancy exists, and the Company will provide relocation assistance under the Company's relocation assistance program in effect at that time.

The EH&S Coordinator MMDP will work directly with plant management to assist in the development, implementation, and training of environmental, health & safety programs for all Team Members while ensuring compliance with company, federal and state environmental, health & safety regulations. This position is ineligible for a hybrid work schedule and will report to work at the plant, daily.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):

The EH&S Coordinator MMDP will assist in execution of various Environmental Health and Safety responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in developing and conducting EH&S training for all associates.
  • Perform EH&S risk assessments and audits on production, maintenance and warehouse spaces.
  • Learn then manage the EH&S inspection program for facilities (property in and around the facility), machinery, safety equipment, stormwater & SPCC (oil storage); identify and correct potential hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in collecting site sustainability data for inclusion in corporate metrics.
  • Assist in the recommendation and implementation of corrective and preventative actions based on the hierarchy of controls.
  • Assist with stormwater, water intake, site waste disposal & air permit compliance; including auditing, data collection, sampling, recordkeeping & reporting.
  • Assist in task specific safety evaluations and observations throughout the facility.
  • Assist in the management of all EH&S programs/ policies and offer suggestions for improvement.
  • Lead the development of safe & environmentally sound work procedures; make recommendations for process and product features that will reduce employees' exposure to workplace hazards & exposures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, health & safety management from an accredited institution.
  • Held a minimum of one internship during college career, preferably in manufacturing or general industry.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work and be flexible and available for on call hours before and/or after normal business hours in addition to off-shift hours as required.
  • Must have the ability to climb multiple flights of stairs, work at various heights above the ground, stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, twist, lift, climb, push, and pull to evaluate equipment in a non-climate-controlled production environment.
  • Willingness to speak publicly in order to develop excellent communication and group presentation skills with the capacity to be proactive and influence others.
  • GSP certification to be obtained within 90 days of graduation.
  • Motivated to obtain CSP certification once experience requirements have been met.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office computer software applications.
  • Ability to read and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.
  • Domestic travel up to 30%.
