STAFF ACCOUNTANT

This person should be a strategic thinker and a hands-on implementer - comfortable with creating projections and reports, reconciling a variety of financial accounts. Role and Responsibilities:

  • Position will entail position of journal entries, aspects of month and quarter close
  • Open to any industry but experience in non-profit is a bonus.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred
  • The successful candidate will be both a strategic thinker and a hands-on implementer - comfortable with creating projections and reports, reconciling a variety of financial accounts, as well as data-entry
  • Assist in preparing the annual operating budget and forecasts, and monitor actual performance against the approved budget
  • Establish and/or maintain accounts with money managers
  • Produce semi-annual statements for donors
  • Compile reports for the annual audit and tax return as needed
  • Assist in preparing financial statements for all regular and annual meetings of the Board of Directors and Investment and Finance Committee
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations
  • Input contributions and invoices into accounting database
  • Prepare, compile and file all reports, statements, statistics and other data as required
  • Position is onsite in the beautiful Belmont University area
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred
  • 1-3 years experience in accounting: specifically debits and credits, and reconciliation
