STAFF ACCOUNTANT
Our client is a thriving financial service-based company seeking a Staff Accountant due to growth and retiring employees. This person should be a strategic thinker and a hands-on implementer - comfortable with creating projections and reports, reconciling a variety of financial accounts. Role and Responsibilities:
- Position will entail position of journal entries, aspects of month and quarter close
- Open to any industry but experience in non-profit is a bonus.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred
- The successful candidate will be both a strategic thinker and a hands-on implementer - comfortable with creating projections and reports, reconciling a variety of financial accounts, as well as data-entry
- Assist in preparing the annual operating budget and forecasts, and monitor actual performance against the approved budget
- Establish and/or maintain accounts with money managers
- Produce semi-annual statements for donors
- Compile reports for the annual audit and tax return as needed
- Assist in preparing financial statements for all regular and annual meetings of the Board of Directors and Investment and Finance Committee
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Input contributions and invoices into accounting database
- Prepare, compile and file all reports, statements, statistics and other data as required
- Position is onsite in the beautiful Belmont University area
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred
- 1-3 years experience in accounting: specifically debits and credits, and reconciliation
