Description

JOB STATEMENT: The Machine Operator is a subject matter expert on safely and efficiently operating the following machines: Box Former, Carrier Erector, Filler, Wire Hood, Foiler, Labeler, and Packer machines. On any given day a Machine Operator can be assigned to operate any, and if assigned as relief, all machines.

Essential Duties:

• Ability to safely operate all bottling machines at maximum speed for optimum efficiency
• Ensure assigned machine produces products that are within HACCP, GMP, the Bronco Wine Company quality standards and compliant with the daily BOM
• Box Former: operates machine that erects and glues boxes for the packaging of bottles
• Carrier Erector: operates machine that erects and locks four-pack carriers for insertion of bottles
• Filler: operates the machine that fills and applies closures to bottles and bags
• Wire Hooder: operates the machine that applies wires to bark and plastic cork champagne bottles post fill
• Foiler: operates the machine that applies, spots, pleats, and crimps foil on to each foiled bottle
• Labeler: operates the machine that applies labels and laser code etching to each filled bottle produced
• Packer: operates the machine that packs units of filled and decorated bottles in cases for shipment
• Ability and responsibility to train employees on proper operating procedures
• Keep all areas free of trash and debris
• Any other duties as directed by your supervisor

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:

• Previous wine industry or production experience
• Previous experience with packaging equipment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Packaging equipment operations
• Scheduled package specifications
• Quality assurance standards
• Keep your assigned machinery operating efficiently
• Determine if machinery is operating correctly
• Determine if quality standards are being met

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Occasionally lift 15-50 lbs based on assigned machine
• Constant standing
• Occasional stair climbing
• Frequent walking, forward reaching, lifting

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Moving machinery
• If certified, drive lift truck as needed
• High noise level
• Indoor climate

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

• Side shield safety glasses, safety vest, head/ear protection and proper footwear when in production facility
