Role description: Arcadis seeks an Entry Level Environmental Compliance Field Specialist to join the team in Selma, CA to conduct routine inspections of ongoing construction projects. Must be able to work onsite in Selma, CA. Role description: Arcadis provides Project and Construction Management Services to oversee the Design-Build for Construction of the California High-Speed Rail System (System) in California's Central Valley. In the Environmental Specialist role, you must have an interest in general environmental compliance and be capable of spending long hours in the field. Role accountabilities: Manage waters communications with contractors and agencies, deliverables, and compliance under the Master Streambed Alteration Agreement (MSAA) (Section 1602), Clean Water Act Section 401 Certification, Clean Water Act Section 404 Permit Review design and construction plans for consistency with permits and review and assist with processing amendments as required Review preconstruction surveys, protocol surveys, monitoring, plans, species relocation, monthly/ annual compliance reporting, jurisdictional delineations, and construction notifications Assist with the preparation of CEQA/NEPA documentation Perform species-specific training Perform field audits and assist with managing field staff Assess and resolve compliance concerns Assist in performing construction schedule analyses Conduct daily field inspections of construction sites. Serve as a liaison between construction and agencies Site Inspection Report writing Assess and resolve compliance concerns Assist with the preparation of CEQA/NEPA documentation Conduct and analyze risk assessments Follow all client safety procedures while working at client sites. Required Qualifications: BA or BS in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, or related discipline. Key Skills and Attributes: Familiarity with construction means and methods. Familiarity with local, state, and federal permitting processes. Familiarity with construction compliance requirements and reporting under California Environmental Quality Act/ National Environmental Policy Act (CEQA/NEPA), Federal Endangered Species Act Permitting (Biological Opinion), California Endangered Species Act Permitting (Incidental Take Permit 2081), Master Streambed Alteration Agreement (MSAA 1602), Clean Water Act Section 401 Certification, Clean Water Act Section 404 Permit, and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan.
