Background: Our client, the US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence (G-2), facilitates and acts as the principal enabler for continuous learning across all TRADOC lines of effort through acquiring, analyzing, creating, organizing, applying and transferring data, information, and knowledge in the context of current and future operations. The G-2 is responsible for delivering the Operating Environment (OE) to facilitate the training of deploying units on joint, national and interagency information, emerging asymmetric capabilities gleaned from world-wide operations; integrating processes, practices, concepts and materiel capabilities into Joint and Service DOTMLPF solutions; and coordinating with the training centers to provide realistic enemy and environmental signatures into models and simulations in support of realistic training.
Summary: The enterprise systems architect role is responsible for enterprise capability management of the enterprise capability system. The enterprise systems architect uses the enterprise architecture to support enterprise capability management responsibilities and activities. The enterprise systems architect is a managerial role and has interconnections with the government client and interdependencies with all team members and what the team members do. With the knowledge of how everything is organized for an enterprise effect, sets expectations between everyone and guides leaders on how to best utilize the talent of the individuals. The enterprise architect will support the continued TRADOC G2 Operational Environment Enterprise transformation into a data driven cloud by acquiring, transforming, transferring, and maintaining data and information to replicate the OE for Leader Development, Training, Education, Capability and Concept Development, Experimentation, and Home Station Training across the Army Primary Duties & Responsibilities Communicate with senior leadership and the rest of the enterprise management team
Catalog, develop, coordinate, communicate, maintain, and enforce the overall Enterprise Architecture models, representations, initiatives, capabilities, and standard components used by the Enterprise to perform all business and technology-related activities
Provide leadership and guidance for operations and technical strategy, architecture development, and functional evaluation of enterprise web and IT infrastructure systems
Provide enterprise architecture strategies that support Disciplined Dev/Sec/Ops
Promote a reuse mindset to enterprise delivery teams and then strive to leverage various types of assets such as data sources, components, templates, and many others providing real value to your customers as well as peer managers to remove production obstacles, obtain customer requirements, communicate progress, and ensure on time deliveries of high quality and complex technical capabilities
Promote a technical-debt mindset that guide strategies that motivate delivery teams to pay down technical debt when they find it and more important do what they can to avoid it in the first place.
Provide development guidelines for addressing common concerns across delivery teams to include: security guidelines, connectivity guidelines, coding standards, and many others,
that lead delivery teams to produce more consistent solutions which in turn makes them easier to operate and support once in production, thereby supporting the Enterprise Dev/Sec/Ops strategy
Develop and manage long and short-term planning for all web-based applications.
Conduct hiring, direction, and counseling for personnel assigned to technical roles.
Develop and implement continuous learning and improvement programs to build team skill and capability Required Qualifications 7 years of analysis experience is expected.
Experience and knowledge in at least one aspect of the business (DoD networks and infrastructure)
A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science, or a related field is desirable
Candidate must possess one or more of the following certifications: Cloud+, SSCP, Security+, or GSEC to be in compliance with DoD 8140 specifications.
Have foundational knowledge as an Azure Developer of the tools available to create, update, and manage an Azure SQL Database
Knowledge and experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines (Windows and Linux)
2+ Years' Experience in performing data migrations upgrades/modernizations, performance tuning on IaaS and PaaS Managed Instance and SQL Azure
Clearance: Secret clearance required
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required Preferred Additional Skills 3-5 years' experience designing IT architecture and systems integration at the enterprise level that fits within the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) - DoD's framework that provides visualization infrastructure for specific stakeholders concerns through viewpoints organized by various views
Able to effectively communicate with senior level leadership and across other organizations
Experience resolving problems integrating existing systems and application architectures.
Experience with Security and compliance activities necessary to maintain system accreditation (to include documentation and mitigation).
Understanding of DoD 8140.03 (the CYBERSPACE WORKFORCE QUALIFICATION AND
MANAGEMENT PROGRAM) certification/compliance requirements (CISSO or GCIA or GCSA or GCLD or GICSP or CISSP-ISSAP or CISSP-ISSEP).
Skills in executing the following tasks: requirements analysis, risk management, configuration management and verification, backup architecture management, infrastructure maintenance, and process documentation.
