MONROVIA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT TITLE:English as a Second Language (ESL) Teachers Monrovia Community Adult School QUALIFICATIONS: Valid California Teaching Credential that authorizes instruction to Adult Education students in English As A Second Language JOB GOAL:Teach (1) or more classes of English As A Second Language (ESL) to adult students ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Ability to work and communicate well with staff. Previous experience working with adults. Follow curriculum guidelines to plan and teach whole group, small group, and individual instruction to meet individual student needs. Understand and apply current research-based strategies for classroom instruction, including but not limited to curriculum alignment, benchmark assessments, and California Standards for the Teaching Profession. Understand and provide competency-based instruction. Identify the need for data, acquire data or create data sources and evaluate relevance of data. Perform basic attendance accounting and clerical tasks in a timely manner. Administer and score Performance-based Assessments for all students. Maintain student records and data including Performance Assessments. Knowledge of TOPsPro and CASAS programs.
