Engineering Technician III with Security Clearance

Job Description PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follows specific instructions, assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts, services or repairs simple instruments or equipment Conducts a variety of tests using established methods, prepares test specimens, adjusts and operates equipment, records test data, and points out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors
Extracts engineering data from various prescribed but non-standardized sources, processes the data following well-defined methods including elementary algebra and geometry, and presents the data in prescribed form
Assists engineering staff members in design, fabrication, integration and testing of electronic circuits and mechanical packaging including the development of electrical and mechanical prototypes
Performs detailed design tasks requiring the application of CAD equipment; designs projects such as simulation, printed circuit boards, and electronic and electrical assemblies requiring development of schematics
Performs on-site installation, troubleshooting, and testing of company products and equipment. Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment
Develops test procedures, test plans, test reports, and procedures to maintain lab facilities and calibrate test equipment. May conduct engineering tests and detailed experimental testing
Establishes procedures for the maintenance of laboratory facilities and equipment including cable diagrams, equipment schematics, and configurations to support various system arrangements. May train laboratory personnel to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment
Inspects, cleanses, transforms and models test data with the goal of discovering useful information, informing conclusions, and supporting decision-making recommendations
Performs platform installation testing, to include Pre-Installation Check-Out (PICO), System Operational Verification Test (SOVT), and System Certification testing Requirements MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED
Six (6) years of professional experience in installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or testing of any major system/equipment
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: Conducting tensile or hardness tests
Operating and adjusting simple test equipment
Recording test data
Demonstrated experience developing test procedures, test plans, test reports, and procedures to maintain lab facilities and calibrate test equipment
Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software design in one of more of the following areas: Simulation
Printed Circuity Boards
Electronic and Electrical assembly schematics
Experience performing platform installation testing, to include: Pre-Installation Check-Out (PICO)
System Operational Verification Test (SOVT)
System Certification testing
Experience with fabrication, integration, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of electronic circuits
Possess a current Department of Defense (DoD) DoD Secret security clearance
Excellent analytical and research skills
Excellent verbal and written communicationDESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
Associates degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Electrical Engineering
Five (5) years of experience supporting DoD or Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Programs
Understanding of NSWC operations
Proficiency with on-site installation, troubleshooting, and testing of products and equipment in support of DoD programs
Demonstrated proficiency with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software design in one of more of the following areas: Simulation
Printed Circuity Boards
Electronic and Electrical assembly schematics
Demonstrated proficiency performing platforming and developing installation testing, to include: Pre-Installation Check-Out (PICO)
System Operational Verification Test (SOVT)
System Certification testing
Experience with developing and maintaining test plans, to include Production Acceptance Testing (PAT&E)
Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)
Environmental qualification test plans
