Engineering Technician III with Security Clearance

As a subcontractor to INDUS Technology, QIS provides industrial support services across the Undersea Weapons Department (Code 30, Test and Evaluations Department (Code 20), Undersea Systems and Sustainment Department (Code 40) and Unmanned and Theater Undersea Warfare Systems Department (Code 50), of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport (NUWCDIVKPT. Requirements include providing technical support services associated with various industrial operations, depot repair activities, and torpedo intermediate maintenance functions. Mandatory Skill Requirements: An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
At least four (4) years of experience providing industrial operations support.
Must be licensed and certified to operate 6,000 pound electric and diesel forklift and CAT III overhead crane.
Must possess ability and experience to operate pallet jack and Big Joe stand-behind pallet lift mechanism.
Some manual lifting up to 75 pounds may be required with this position.

Job Duties: Performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed, performs recurring work independently. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.
Performs typical duties such as constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment and may troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.
Be ready to cross-train across any engineering technician area in the ISS Contract including but not limited to Torpedo Depot and Torpedo Intermediate Maintenance Activity (IMA) for 3-6-month rotations. Note some rotations will require full body PPE for extended periods of time. Rotation assignment is at the discretion of the coordinating Task Leads, the Deputy PM, and the PM.
Hazard Duty: Some roles may require employee be occupationally exposed to hazardous substances such as Otto Fuel II, lead, chromium, or cadmium. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and training will be provided. Physical and medical certifications would be required for these roles, paid for by employer. Cleaning Roles: Some roles may have extended use of PPE and be considered 'dirty' jobs, i.e., requiring extensive cleaning of parts. Cross training is used to provide 3-6 months rotations in and out of these roles.
