Role

The Seller Growth Engineering team is responsible for growing sellers on Whatnot - enabling them to turn their hobbies into businesses. As the Engineering Manager of the Seller Growth team, you'll focus on defining different seller cuts and measuring the seller lifecycle, making sellers successful throughout their lifecycle, seller onboarding, seller marketing and growth capabilities and tooling, and resurrecting churned sellers.

In addition, you'll:

  • hire and develop engineers across all our consumer applications and backend systems.
  • collaborate with your product and design counterparts to influence the strategic direction of the team, advocating for technical solutions that help us grow Whatnot as a whole.
  • plan and manage projects, coordinating and aligning your team's goals against others across the business.
You

  • are comfortable with technical debt and how to leverage it.
  • understand how to instrument product metrics, recognizing the value and limits of data.
  • can effectively manage stakeholders, competing priorities and deal with ambiguity
  • have substantial hands-on experience of doing the job you'll be managing.
  • a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Compensation

For US-based applicants: $185,000 - $245,000/year + benefits + stock options

The salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills and expertise. This range is only inclusive of base salary, not benefits (more details below) or equity in the form of stock options.
