Wazee Crane, a division of Timken Drive Systems and Services, has an opening for an Engineering Manager. The Engineering Manager is responsible for the management of an internal engineering team and customer service associates to ensure timely, profitable, and technically correct delivery of highly engineered and complex projects. The Engineering Manager will be the primary POC, as well as designer and project manager, for strategic projects and responsible for the development and delivery of technical proposals. Essential Responsibilities Manage a team of both engineers and customer service associates, whose duties include sales, design, code, best practices, scheduling, and customer serviceCoordinate and manage suppliers, engineering resources, internal and external production and other commercial and legal resources, field installers, start-up technicians, logistics firms, subcontractors, and other internal and external resourcesDevelop crane system proposals including design, estimating, and adherence with project specificationsDesign complex material handling systems, including design, detail, and release drawings for production in highly visible and strategic projectsDevelop and maintain engineering work instructions to ensure compliance with applicable codes and best practicesInterface with customers directly to ensure complete and clear communication, providing a single source point-of-contact for customer questions on strategic customer projectsManage design profitability of projects to ensure compliance with estimated costs while maximizing project profitabilityEnsure 100% technical compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and codes Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in engineering required, Masters degree preferredSeven (7) years of experience working as a mechanical, electrical, or structural design engineer required; Ten (10) preferredThree (3) years of project management experienceProject Management Professional certification preferredKnowledge and experience with applicable codes including CMAA, NEC, OSHA, ASCE, ASME, AISCProficient in electrical schematics and design including relay logic, VFD drives, NEC CodeAbility to interpret and apply design codesCAD drawing and modeling experienceMechanical design experienceStructural design experienceAdvanced computer skills in MS 365/Office Suite, AutoCAD, Solidworks, MathCAD, Acrobat, EpicorOverhead material handling crane technical and commercial experience preferredTechnical knowledge; mechanical and electrical aptitudeExcellent organization and communication skills The yearly compensation for this role is $105,000- $145,000, is commensurate on experience and education, and could pay more or less than the posted range. This full-time position is eligible to participate in the company's short-term incentive program, paid time off plan, 401k, and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision.
