We are looking for a seasonal Engineering Department Assistant (June to August). The Engineering Assistant assists in various engineering and shop projects at our Poca location. Work is performed under the supervision of Mechanical Engineers. Preference will be given to college students studying in Engineering or a related field.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience
Minimum requirements are:
High School Diploma or GED and

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be at least 18 years old

Job offer contingent upon successfully passing a drug screen.

Qualification Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform engineering assignments and projects satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Some knowledge of occupational hazards and safety procedures of the work; some knowledge of surveying methods; some knowledge of specialized equipment used in performance of duties assigned; ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions; ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.

Physical Requirements
This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms and pushing or pulling, frequently requires climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, lifting and repetitive motions and occasionally requires sitting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.
