Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Key responsibilities Include: Assist in developing and implementing production UT inspection techniques (automated and hand-held)
Perform inspections of various composite structures in support of production; evaluation and interpretation of indications for Engineering in an expeditious time frame to allow rapid MRB response and disposition.
Write technique sheets, procedures, including SWI and EWIs, and reports, as required
Create and approve AUIS motion path generation
Assist with the design, fabrication & qualification of defect standards
Qualify NDT techniques and automated inspection systems
Provide NDT cost estimates for applicable programs
Perform training and certification of NDT personnel
Perform instrument & system calibrations; support internal and external audits Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years Ultrasonic inspection experience. In lieu of a degree, 8 years of work experience directly related to Ultrasonic inspection and two years documented Level 3 certification/experience per NAS410 will be considered. The applicant with a Level 2 in Ultrasonic Testing (certified per NAS410) must be able to obtain Level 3 certification within a 3-month period after hiring (certification and experience will be verified).
The candidate must be able to pass the ASNT Level 3 Basic examination within a one year period after hiring.
Experience working with automated Ultrasonic inspection systems utilizing standard pulse echo and advanced phased array inspection techniques.
Must have Active DoD Secret Clearance last investigated within 5 1/2 years and the ability to obtain and maintain special program access. Preferred Qualifications: A Level 2 certification in Thermography or Shearography is preferred.
Experience setting up/calibrating portable phased array UT equipment. Be able to demonstrate a record of success at training/mentoring.
Experience writing training plans, procedures/techniques in various methods of inspection.
Experience performing the inspection and analysis of complex structures.
Proven ability to train technicians to a high standard.Salary Range: $68,500 - $102,700 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
