Description Engineer- Condition Based Maintenance Washington, DC Responsibilities: This position will require applying engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate (CBM) related systems, policies, support systems and management information systems. The position will require familiarity with: Analyzing alternative SMIP test technologies, including on-line monitoring and diagnostic systems, expert systems, neural network and net centric technology applications to help solve emerging diagnostics requirements and provide recommendations to the SMIP program. Analyzing technical risks associated with application of automated diagnostics to shipboard equipment, instructions, and technical specifications for validation of shipboard diagnostics and maintenance management systems. Conducting SMIP CBM analyses to support improvement of Navy SMIP maintenance processes, organizations planning tools, and information systems. Assisting in the evaluation, and implementation of improved SMIP CBM processes, procedures, organizations, and support tools related to reduction of Total Ownership Cost. Reviewing of SMIP acquisition maintenance requirements and specifications to help ensure CBM is incorporated in the ship design process. Conducting Independent Logistics Assessments processes for acquisition and sustainment programs. Developing maintenance planning and management requirements for ships and ships systems for Navy Combatant Design Specifications. Required Qualifications Ten (10) years or experience in Navy Maintenance Processes and Policies Bachelor degree (BS/BA) in a field of Science or Engineering is required OR a minimum of Ten (10) years of in-depth experience and specialized knowledge in a related field US Citizen with Secret Security Clearance Desired Qualifications Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional.
