Job Description:As an Engineer I, you'll immerse yourself in the intricacies of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, serving as a pivotal force in steering water-centric projects to success. Within a dynamic interdisciplinary team comprising engineers, GIS analysts, and scientists, you'll leverage your technical prowess and problem-solving acumen to make substantial contributions to a spectrum of public and private sector initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:Numerical Modeling:- Execute precise hydrologic and hydraulic modeling computations aligned with project specifications.
- Develop and oversee water quality models as needed to advance project objectives.
- Harness cutting-edge engineering software and tools to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of all modeling endeavors.
- Foster seamless integration of spatial data insights into modeling processes through close collaboration with GIS analysts.
Project Coordination and Collaboration:- Actively engage in team meetings, sharing pertinent updates, insights, and feedback pertaining to engineering facets of projects.
- Collaborate closely with team members to coordinate project tasks, ensuring adherence to overarching goals and timelines.
- Interface with both public and private stakeholders to ensure engineering solutions resonate with their needs and expectations.
Field Work and Travel:- Conduct essential field work to gather and validate spatial data firsthand.
- Primarily travel within local regions; occasional participation in regional or national conferences.
Continuous Learning and Professional Development:- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality modeling methodologies.
- Participate in relevant training sessions, workshops, and conferences to foster continuous professional growth.
Education:- Minimum Requirement: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or an approved engineering discipline.
Experience:- 0-5 years in water resources-related roles.
- Some familiarity with H&H models such as HEC-1, HEC-HMS, HEC-2, HEC-RAS, EPA SWMM, XP-SWMM, or ICPRO.
Other Qualifications Desired:- Registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and computational skills.
- Experience with GIS and/or CAD software preferred.
- Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Proficiency in computer literacy.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
